Dymchuk Gallery launches an editorial program

In 2021, Dymchuk Gallery restarts its own publishing program. Our team prepares for publication a number of visual books, catalogs and research on the theory and history of art. The main focus of our updated program is in-depth collaboration with artists. We strive not just to record the projects of artists, but to give them space to express themselves, to build a dialogue, to explore their practice.

Our first series within the program is called Artifacts. These are a number of pocket art books created with contemporary Ukrainian artists. In these publications you will find the results of our reflections, dialogues, discussions – the process of preparing exhibitions, invisible to the public. These are the artifacts of our activity, verbal and visual.

The first two editions of the series will be released in February 2021. The Industrial Fairy Tale art book is dedicated to the project of Odesa sculptor Vasyl Dmytryk, who works on an abandoned shipyard. The publication dives into the history and aesthetics of the industrial zone, which is inhabited by a whole community of artists.
The second edition of the series – Identical to Original by Kyiv artist Dobrynya Ivanov. In this edition we collected a retrospective of key projects of the artist with author’s comments. The book will be published as part of the exhibition of the same name by Dobrynya Ivanov in Dymchuk Gallery.
