From May 23 to May 26 Dymchuk Gallery invites to visit the project within the framework of Kyiv Art Week.
The project I`m Trying is thematically focused around the situations of norms, obligations and restrictions that affect the male population. The series of works by Yevgen Samborsky is a combination of painting, collage and mosaics. The artist used crushed items that the young man must take with him while going to military service as a material for the pieces. Dobrynya Ivanov‘s video tells us that sometimes a man needs courage to say no to the challenges and expectations of others. The ability to say “no” is presented as a fundamental component of the dialogue with the world. In the Decoration installation, Oleksiy Say uses lamps as rational and simple household items, but violates the usual order of their placement, thereby creating a decorative product. Work refers to the daily life choices between rational and irrational.
