Less than a month before the opening Artem Volokitin’s show “Operating Manual” in Dymchuk Gallery!

From 21 May to 7 July Dymchuk Gallery presents a solo show “Operating Manual” by Artem Volokitin, an artist from Kharkiv, who takes part in a group exhibition in the Ukrainian pavilion at the 56 Venice Biennale.

Works included in the exhibition continue the series presented last year at the “Fear and Hope” show in PinchukArtCentre. In “Operating Manual” Artem Volokitin continues to elaborate on a previously stated theme of picturing horrific physical phenomena that make man realize the finiteness of his existence. On the one hand, Volokitin is fascinated with the physics of the process which he reconstructs as a painter. On the other hand, portraying the explosions is a kind of experiencing an everyday reality that is overwhelmed with an aggression.
